Arrival in Manali & Transfer to Accommodation: Upon arriving in Manali, proceed to our designated accommodation. This day is dedicated to acclimatization. Explore the area, surrounded by serene apple orchards, and take a leisurely stroll along the banks of the Beas river, enjoying its tranquility.Optional Activities in Manali: Consider arranging Paragliding at an additional cost of INR 2500/- (advance notice required to avoid queues). We have a special arrangement with the paragliding team for the best rates. Otherwise, standard paragliding charges are INR 3,200/-.Experience Hot Springs in Manali: Following the test ride, indulge in a swim at the hot springs, aiding our bodies in acclimatization. The sulfur content in the hot springs water is beneficial for the bones. You can also savor local mutton dishes at a popular restaurant near the hot springs. After this relaxing experience, we'll proceed to Manali Mall Road.Exploration of Manali Mall Road: Devote ample time to explore Mall Road thoroughly, engaging in local shopping and cafe hopping to relish the flavors of the region. After enjoying a nutritious breakfast at our lodging, we'll commence our journey early, venturing towards Sarchu and immersing ourselves in the vast expanse of the Greater Himalayas.Embarking from Lahaul after bidding farewell to Kullu, we'll traverse through the Atal Tunnel, transitioning from verdant landscapes to the rugged terrains of the cold desert. Continuing along the Manali-Leh Highway after passing Darcha, our route leads us toward Sarchu.En route, we'll visit Suraj Taal and Deepak Taal, two stunning high-altitude lakes nestled in the Lahaul and Spiti region. Our journey includes traversing Baralacha La, standing at 16,040 feet—a significant pass among the five covered on this road trip. Lunch will be arranged at Bharatpur Colony after crossing Baralacha La.We'll lodge in Sarchu (14,070 feet), one of the highest altitudes for accommodation, a fascination for many riders. Given the altitude, it's crucial to be extra cautious today. Staying hydrated and consuming light meals at regular intervals is advised. Prepare for an exhilarating ride, starting early in the morning to navigate water crossings, a common feature along the route, advised to be crossed in the early hours.Today's journey is an adventure through a multitude of hairpin turns, dust-covered trails, and three high-altitude passes. Covering approximately 40 km from Sarchu, the route via the breathtaking 21 Hairpin Bend ascent leads to Nakee La, the third high-altitude pass situated at 15,500 feet.Descending from Nakee La, the trail leads to Whisky Nala. Following this, the ascent towards Lachulung La (16,500 ft), the fourth high-altitude pass on the Manali-Leh Highway between Whisky Nalla and Pang, begins.The landscape transitions after Pang, entering the expansive Moore Plains, a 45 km plateau with rough and challenging roads that test both vehicle and rider.Continuing, the route ascends to Tanglang La (17,500 feet), the fifth and final high mountain pass on this route, offering awe-inspiring vistas of the Zanskar range. Post this pass, well-maintained roads guide us all the way to Leh.Note: Today, most riders may experience Acute Mountain Sickness (AMS) due to traversing severely deteriorated roads and high-altitude passes. After three days of exhilarating yet demanding rides, we'll take a well-deserved break to recharge before continuing our journey. Our accommodation offers sweeping panoramic vistas of the majestic Stok Kangri mountain range.We'll undergo a vehicle change as Himachal vehicles are not permitted to proceed in Leh.
